Training Kerstin graduated in Economics at the University of Goettingen in 2013. Currently, she is finishing her M.A. in Development Economics at the Georg-August-University of Goettingen.
Career Kerstin started to work at the Courant Research Centre for Poverty, Equity and Growth and for the Chair of Development Economics (Prof. Stephan Klasen, PhD.) during her bachelors, as a student assistant. During this time, she was responsible for assisting in the planning and organising of conferences (e.g. Verein für Sozialpolitik in 2011). In 2013, Kerstin did a 3-month Internship at the Konrad-Adenaur Stiftung in Kampala, Uganda. Since 2014, she has worked for the GlobalFood Project as a student assistant.
Research Interests
Kerstin is currently doing research on social factors affecting farmers’ decision making processes in the uptake of innovations. Doing so, she is exploring the diverse livelihoods of smallholder farmers, and the capitals and capabilities that enhance such livelihoods. Kerstin is interested in learning and working with farmer projects to support agricultural activities.
Experience Abroad Kerstin took part in a 1 month excursion to New Delhi in 2012 visiting urban and peripheral areas. In 2013, she lived in Kampala, Uganda, for 3 month for an internship. From January to April 2015, Kerstin conducted field research in rural Tanzania with the Trans-SEC project, gaining experience in facilitation of farmer group workshops involving Participatory Scenario Building activities.
