Training Raúl studied Business Administration at Universidad de Oviedo and was awarded a scholarship from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Spain to carry out a Master in International Business Management at the CECO Madrid. Currently he is finishing his M.A. in Development Economics at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen.
Career From October 2010, Raúl worked for two-and-a-half years in the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office in Nairobi as Commercial Advisor and Market Analyst. In 2014, he carried out an internship for UNOPS as Sustainable Procurement Assistant.
Research Interests
Currently Raúl is conducting research on factors affecting farmer’s groups performance with a special focus on social capital-related factors. Furthermore, he is interested in Participatory Video in relation to group dynamics and has conducted research on this topic.
Working Experience in Trans-SEC
From February to May 2015, Raúl conducted his field research in rural Tanzania using Participatory Action Research methods including Participatory Video, in the frame of farmer group workshops.
